Robert Frost

One of the reasons I decided to dip my toe back into my writing blog was that I have become deeply interested in the works of Robert Frost. One of the favourite poems is Frost's 1923 poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay". I intend to study the poems and works of Robert Frost and I thought that instead of doing this alone, I will blog about it and take you on the journey with me. As Frost wrote in his 1939 essay "The Figure a Poem Makes":

It begins in delight and ends in wisdom ... For me the initial delight is in the surprise of remembering something I didn't know I knew (Frost, n.d.)

I was surprised to remember that the only reason I knew the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" is because I read S.E Hilton's The Outsiders as a young teen. I had forgotten that was where I first gained exposure to this poem. I only remembered after reading the Wikipedia entries about Frost and the poem.

I hope my journey through Frost's poems and works will begin in delight and end in wisdom. As I read, think and write I will be sure to take you along with me in the coming days, weeks and seasons. See you then.
